Dear squaddies and all other readers coming across this page, we know that the recent conversation surrounding Prince Andrew will be triggering to many survivors of abuse. Here is a list of American and United Kingdom based charities where you can find support. Know that you are loved and supported and that there are people ready to support you.

Note: we will be updating this with more countries based on the top ranking places our readers come from. 


American Charities For Sexual Assault Survivors

The National Alliance To End Sexual Violence (NAESV)

 NAESV is a partnership body that creates the link between state and federal governments and the local organizations busy working on facilitating legislation to help survivors of sexual violence. The group is responsible for establishing sexual violence service platforms that are funded by the government to render the needed service to survivors.

 

End Rape On Campus (EROC)

EROC is a body that works with administrators and students to ensure the best sexual violence policy is in place.

RAINN (The Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network)

RAINN is the largest anti-sexual violation organization in America. RAINN provides prevention, protection and cares for victims of sexual violence in its services. People can contact RAINN through their hotline.

It is open to all. Survivors of sexual assault will find this a good link to a counselor for needed support.

RAINN also directs victims to utilize the various major federal laws   put in place to help survivors of sexual assault.

 

Know Your IX

Know Your IX is a body that educates students on their right to go to college without any fear of sexual assault.

 

National Domestic Violence Hotline

The organization provides hotline services 24 hours of the day. It provides intervention and support services.

It also gives support to survivors of sexual violence.

 

Promoting Awareness | Victim Empowerment

PAVE empowers people to get organized and take action at the local level. This is done by teaching military members, students, and community leaders.

They teach them how to both respond to sexual assault and fight for the rights of people on sexual violence matters.

 

The Grateful Garment Project

The Grateful Garment project has a mission to provide sexual assault survivors who have to give out their clothes in the hospital for DNA tests to have new clothes. This provides that caring attitude and love that victims need at the time. Donations are given to survivors to put on from the hospital back to their homes.

Aurora Foundation

Aurora provides counselling and support for adults who have experienced any form of childhood abuse.

 

Childline

Offers help and counsel to children.

 

Haven – The Survivors of Abuse Network

Provides counselling support to victims of domestic and sexual abuse across London.

 

Life Centre

Confidential counselling services for male and female survivors of all types of sexual abuse past and present.

London Survivors Gateway

The London Survivors Gateway offers victims and survivors of rape and sexual abuse help to access specialist services in London.

 National Association for People Abused In Childhood (NAPAC)

Provides training, support and resources for adults who have experienced ill treatment and abuse in childhood.

NSPCC

Twenty four hour child protection helpline.

One In Four

A registered charity which provides support and resources to people who have experienced sexual abuse and sexual violence. Run for and by people who have experienced sexual abuse.

Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre

Supports survivors of rape and sexual abuse in face to face counselling and a helpline.

Rape Crisis

Specialist services for women and girls that have been raped in England and Wales.

Respond

Respond works with children and adults with learning disabilities who have experienced abuse or trauma, as well as those who have abused others though counselling and advocacy.

Samaritans

Provide a twenty four hour listening service and also provides emotional support online.

Survivors’ Network

National Helpline, email support and (Brighton based) drop in service for women survivors of sexual abuse.

Survivors Together

A social group for women in East London for Survivors of sexual abuse.

The Survivors Trust

A national umbrella agency supporting specialist services for survivors of rape and sexual abuse.

Tender

Tender is an arts charity working with young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects.

 

United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy

Professional body for psychotherapists can recommend a psychotherapist in your area.

Unity and Hope

Organisation involved in information giving, research and supporting Survivors with a special focus for Ethnic Minority and Asian Women.
