YOU WEREN’T BULLIED – YOU WERE LAZY

Smart Set Collection is one! Yay!

By now you’ve likely heard the recycled allegations of bullying by Meghan forwards palace staff. While it doesn’t take a genius to quickly realise they are simply not true, (and were part of a campaign to derail the Oprah interview) what is more interesting is that those allegations seem to stem from the fact that Meghan’s staff simply could not handle their tasks.

When Meghan sat down for her engagement interview with Harry, she said in her own words, that she wanted to ‘hit the ground running when she entered the family. This, of course, turned out to be a problem, because life with The Firm moves at a snail’s pace.

Instead of showing admiration for her high-energy, innovative way of doing things, she was belittled, accused of making people break-down in tears, and emotionally torturing staff. Is it just me, or do these palace staffers sound more and more like toddlers being asked to eat their vegetables and throwing a tantrum each time we get a new story? These are the people who tasked with keeping The Monarchy running, yet they seem to have no spines. Poor Meghan, attempting to bring substance to a space that elevates mediocrity. Is it any surprise though? The entire monarchy was built off of stealing and pillaging from others, why start doing any actual work now? I can’t help but feel many in the palace simply could not accept taking orders from a woman of color. Worse still, her incredible talents probably bought out the green-eyed monster in these MoFo’s.

Such is Meghan’s drive, that even with ALL OF THIS DRAMA she still managed to pull off 3 large-scale projects including Smart Works, the Together Cook Book for Grenfell, and a Vogue edit. There were also two tours and a pregnancy. Can you imagine then, what she would have done with support from the palace because she managed to do all of that while being sabotaged? They played themselves and we don’t have to imagine, we’re seeing unfiltered, unchained Meghan in action with Archewell. Sis is going to stay on their lazy ass necks and eat her avocado toast while doing it.

It would appear that palace staff had grown accustomed to not doing much for the other Royals. Kate’s first major solo project (5 Big Questions) was only launched when Meghan joined the family, yet she’s been a working Royal for almost a decade. What took her so long? Prior to Meghan coming along, the most talked about feature of Kate’s life was her hair and clothes, this is actually still very much the case today. There was little mention of her work because quite frankly, asides from the usual showing up to wave at events, there wasn’t much work. The same can be said for William. Cambridge fans might argue that they have been ‘attached’ to many initiatives, but attaching yourself to something and creating measurable change are two entirely different things. What measurable change can you say the Cambridges have created?

The Cambridges have been spared much criticism from the British Press who have mostly referred to them as ‘work shy’,  instead of the more appropriate term – lazy. Could all of that be changing though?

Due to the fall-out from the Oprah interview, we’ve seen the Cambridges fill up their work schedules the last few weeks. It’s a frantic effort to change public opinions, but how long will this last? Is this how we’re going to see The Cambridges operating long-term? My prediction, for the time being, is no. Right now, Kensington Palace is in PR overdrive, but my general feeling is that this is all short-term, a distraction while we move weeks and months further away from the interview. My feeling is that Kate and William think this will all blow over, and perhaps, in days gone by, this would have worked, but not anymore. The last I checked, the Oprah interview had been viewed by over 61million people worldwide, that number is probably far higher by now and will continue to increase. The Cambridges are in a dilemma, they have a fanbase that only seems to pay attention to how Kate looks, or use them as a beating stick to bash Harry and Meghan. They may retain a smidgen of popularity with some Royalists in the UK, but what about internationally?

The Monarchy’s survival relies on getting people to support the current monarch and the heirs. Despite all efforts, Charles is still as unpopular as ever, and William is slowly being exposed as a bully. It’s going to take a lot more than walking around town with black people to get more supports on board.
