Harry and Meghan 2020 A Year In Review – The Hurdles

This is the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s 2020 year in a review focusing on the hurdles they had to go through to finally be free from the vile racist abuse from the royal family and British Press. Now they are thriving and doing amazing! There is no going back!

During the Sussexes’ Southern Africa Royal Tour in late 2019, Prince Charles’s Household leaked to favourite conservative newspapers, that he intended to slim down the hereditary to Prince William’s last-child, Prince Louis when he took over the reins. What that crucially meant to work as a Senior Royal within the Royal family, was not leaked.
To a layman watching from the outside, that meant the Sussexes would be working as Senior Working Royals until the Queen passes away to find out their fate. What happened in January was just propaganda shenanigans concocted by the Royal Family to make themselves feel the aggrieved party. They failed to inform the British people and thereby the world at large, that discussions about the Sussexes’ future had been ongoing even before they left for Southern Africa.

In place of serious discussions, they decided to leak to their friends in the newspapers. When the Sussexes returned from their Southern Africa Royal Tour, the overriding interest was to watch the full documentary by ITV, which had been trailed heavily by that TV company. Immediately after that programme was aired, the Sussexes left the country quietly. No one knew where they went until the wife of a restaurateur in British Columbia, Canada spoke with a local news media, that they had just turned down a booking for the Sussexes, because of a security scare. The rest, as they say, is history.
They stayed in Canada for Christmas, but before then, the Royal Family made their future intention known by publishing the three heirs Prince Charles, Prince William, and his son, Prince George in line to the succession and the Queen. That confirmed the leaks to the newspapers about the successions of the Crown. Prince Harry is acutely aware of his place in the institution and has said so in the past. Whatever that photograph was intended to portray, was awfully self-defeating and shortsighted. Why Prince Charles could not sit down with the Sussexes to discuss an amicable future role beneficial to both sides and to make them feel part of the family going forward, I will never know and understand.

Of course, the Sussexes are not like the other lot. No one thinks for them, they think for themselves. Whilst the Royal Family had their fake pictures pretending to bake a cake in suits with the Queen carrying her handbag, the Sussexes were in deep conversations about whether they would fit into the future the courtiers were mapping out for them. The decision to step back as Senior Working Royals, but work for the Monarch when required, was made. They would do so without public money. Prince Charles had begun discussions with Prince Harry, but because he had not thought deeply about what he had started with newspaper leaks, he could not give an outright thought of their future role. All he did was kick it to the long grass and hoped the Sussexes would trundle along without any fuss. However, he asked the Duke to come up with ideas. The Duke at first said no, as he feared that would be leaked, but relented and gave an outline of their roles.

When the Sussexes returned to the United Kingdom in January, no decision had been taken by Prince Charles. He probably discussed that with Prince William, as he is now highly active in decisions by the Royal Family. No sooner had the Sussexes stepped foot on British soil did leaks of the proposal to Prince Charles begin to appear in the scallywag Sun newspaper. The annoying thing about this was that the buffoon, Dan Wooten at the Sun sought to divert attention from Prince William by claiming the leak came from Meghan the Duchess of Sussex’s friends. The idea that the scumbag Wooten thought this would be believed by rationale human beings, is beyond comprehension. The Sussexes probably felt the family was selling them to the newspapers and decided to hit the nuclear option and went ahead and published what they gave to Prince Charles on their newly created website. Irrespective of what was said at the time by whoever, it was their future at stake and not anyone else’s.

If the Royal Family does not think, the Sussexes have a clearly defined future in a slimmed-down version, what was the point of hanging around to be abused. We have to remember that there was a deliberate plan to frustrate them of what they could do. Take the Duchess. She had only four charities and still has. These are not full-time jobs, just the occasional ‘meet and chat’ with the charities. The Duchess sought to go the extra mile to do more for the charities she is involved with. What was such a talented powerhouse to do with the majority of her precious time, apart from looking after her husband and Master Archie? Nothing much, and for someone like her, a very soul-killing situation to be in.

Duchess Always gave her all to her charitable endeavors. Here she is the smart works smart set launch.

The Queen as old as she is is sitting on over 500 charities. Why could she not hand over more to the Duchess to keep her active mind occupied? Was there the thought and apprehension that the Duchess taking over more charities would make those charities successful and show up the Queen for not doing enough? However, she has done nothing much to benefit these charities, not ever, but they hardly complain. The jealousy among the Royal family of the Duchess of Sussex is not limited to Prince William and his wife. It permeates the whole family. As the President and Vice President of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust and Prince Harry as the Youth Ambassador of the Commonwealth, the Sussexes were rightly invited to the Commonwealth Day to round off their stepping back as Senior Royal Working Members.

Sophie, William, and Kate being rude snobs at Harry and Meghan during commonwealth day!

However, some silly people in the Royal Households decided to humiliate the Sussexes in public, by making them go straight to sit down after greeting the line of Commonwealth dignitaries and church officials, instead of waiting at the Church door to accompany the Queen, Prince Charles, and his wife, the Cambridges, when she arrived last at the church to their seats, as they have done since 2017. This was such an obvious brazen snobbery in the presence of the watching world media waiting to see the reaction of the family after the agreement, which enabled the Sussexes to decamp to Canada at first and then finally to California. Someone wise decided at the last minute to ask the Cambridges not to wait for the Queen, but to go straight to their seats where the Sussexes were already seated. That must have infuriated the pair hence their haughty and childish behaviour when they got to their seats and saw the Sussexes. The newspapers chose to ignore their silly behaviour and told different stories. No wonder Meghan the Duchess of Sussex returned to Canada immediately after the ceremony.

Throughout 2020, the Daily Gutter has led the rest of the useless conservative newspapers to torment the Sussexes with made-up stories, as they get zilch news from them. They encouraged paparazzo to haunt the Sussexes, so they could buy and publish exclusive pictures. They should have been in Court with Splash Media and charged for aiding and abetting. The Sussexes moved to California and laid low for some weeks to get the British disappointments from their system. They were soon doing charity work at the height of the coronavirus pandemic only to be followed half-heartedly and clumsily by the family they left behind. In the absence of hard news about the Sussexes, the British newspapers including serious and tabloids resorted to made-up stories. Their central theme was the ‘unhappiness’ of the Duke, in surroundings he was not used to and missing his friends and family. A family, which had sought to destroy his marriage and life as a father. Past stories were re-hashed as news, the biggest culprit of this being the Daily Gutter Group. With the formation of their Foundation, Archwell became a topic for conversation and some ridicule by enemies and newspapers across the globe. They falsely reported that they were suffering hardships as the Duchess was being rejected by film studios for acting work.

The two British newspapers, which are sworn enemies and determined to destroy the Sussexes, especially the Duchess are fast losing profit (by current calculation 61 % down) and shedding staff by the bucket loads. Advertising revenue is sharply down. They blame COVID-19, but lousy and lying journalism must play a part. All the legal suits must be having their toll on the Group’s finances. Whilst the world was waiting to hear what the Sussexes would do, as we know, they had been working seriously on projects quietly. Their foundation had been established without any fanfare, moved home by buying their own, paid off the money used to refurbish the so-called wedding gift from a very ‘strange’ grandmother.

They signed a multi-year agreement with Netflix and showed up to tell the world that they could not be silenced by anyone, not even the Orange Nightmare. They held Zoom conference calls to the United Kingdom and within the United States. They also contributed to their charities in the United Kingdom, a mean feat considering the distance. The Sussexes have done all these in six months of relatively starting all over again in California. Although the Duchess is a native of Los Angeles and a child of Hollywood, she had been away in Canada and the United Kingdom for the past nine years. Old links had to be renewed, unused contacts had to be refreshed to start the new life away from the torment that was in the United Kingdom. There are very few people in the world that could pull off all these achievements.

Even though the Sussexes have put the United Kingdom on the back burner, their every move is reported all over news media. Hence when the Netflix deal was signed, it was a big topic for conversation. There was the opinion among the dumbs with access to newspaper columns, television and radio platforms, question why and how that came about. There was the question of how they could pull that off without any experience. The Duchess’s years in front of film cameras and part of production teams were conveniently forgotten in making their obnoxious comments. The Duke has co-produced animal welfare documentaries for television and co-produced mental health documentary with Oprah Winfrey for Apple TV. He is also heavily involved in the mini–Olympic Games that is the Invictus Games. In the United Kingdom, the Games are shown live and have a credible television audience.

The Spotify deal brought the stupidity of these people (usually the same culprits) to the fore. Ridiculous inferences were made like they only got the deal because of their link to the British Royal Family as if that were a sure bet to secure deals in Hollywood and Silicon Valley, San Francisco. Penny Junor who wrote a lapdog book about Prince Charles and so thinks she is a confidant had the audacity to comment on the Sussexes. Her nonsense claims included that the two could not have made an agreement without being members of the Royal Family. She also went on to say the Sussexes should have referred their contracts to Buckingham Palace, where they have a ‘gold standard insight into businesses to scrutinize and approve. What a twerp. She and others like her, forget that the Sussexes have broken mentally and physically from the Royal Family. They also forget that the Duchess has been working all her adult life as self-employed and has a lawyer and a business adviser with what she does privately. In any case, what would a Buckingham Palace old courtier know about Netflix and Spotify that the Duchess would not know?

These people abuse the intelligence of the owners of Netflix and Spotify as successful businesspeople. They think they are mesmerized by royalty, which could not be further from reality. If Netflix bosses are so enchanted by the Royal Family, they can commission a series like the Crown and annoy them in the process. They do not need the Sussexes to help them do it. These old demented British journalists and has-been actors have spent four years trying to break up the couple with all sorts of abuse and character assassination, they have not realized how special they are. They did not watch the excitement exuded by the boss of Netflix when he was interviewed by the US news media when they broke the news of the deal. He knows what the contents, ideas, and the worth of the deal they have signed with the Sussexes and was extremely excited by the future and said so.

A cursory study of what the couple has done in the United Kingdom and elsewhere would have told them what the executives of those two companies saw in them. The point is, no one – Royal or ex-President – or whoever would get a look in with these hard-nosed capitalist businessmen without showing there is a profitable idea to talk about to benefit both sides. The bosses of Netflix saw the potential of the Sussexes from afar and decided they would want to work with them. That was even before they left the United Kingdom. Why would they hand over millions of United States dollars to the Sussexes, because of their position? As for Spotify, they have landed the deal of all deals to end 2020 and will begin the New Year with something totally different from what I have seen on Spotify so far.

When the Duchess wrote her sad Op-ed to the New York Times, I read some of the responses. There were thousands of responses, so many that the newspaper had to repeat the article the next day for more reactions. I have been a New York Times subscriber for quite a while and never seen anything like that yet. The responses were so overwhelming. The global sympathies and comments were just mind-blowing. Other courageous women have openly expressed their experiences over the past months, but not garnered such reactions, which they should have. However, there were odd and silly reactions from her enemies, including Camilla Tominey. She had nothing better to say but referring to comments from ignorant demented on-line trolls and went on to say the NYT article would have an effect on the Duchess’s Court case with the Gutter On Sunday. I did not know that from a tabloid journalist and graduating to the equally horrible conservative Daily Telegraph, she is now a media lawyer. What a terrible woman.

The Sussex Squad has been remarkably successful this year too, so much so that a loyal Royal Family sycophant, went out of his way to claim the success of the Squaddies for the Royal family. His reason is that they do these things for the Duchess, therefore it is done for the Royal family. What warped minds these people have? Having in combined, but varied efforts, driven the Sussexes out, they want to hang on to their successes and that of their sympathizers and supporters. Of course, they will not be given that.

As 2020 draws to a close, there are all sorts of speculations in the media and it is all about the Sussexes. One was advising the Queen and Prince Charles to bring back the Sussexes in a part-time capacity as they wanted in early January. Although the Sussexes have left the House, the newspapers still harbour an unlikely return to the fold, where the Sussexes would have to adhere to the archaic strictures of the Monarchy.

The thought that they would return to subject themselves to this cruel and unfeeling archaic system is not only laughable but totally alien to their present position. They have formed their own Foundation, established production companies, employed high caliber staff, and are in the middle of producing programmes for Netflix and Spotify for next year. They make their own decisions without references to anyone. Why on mother earth, would they abandon these to go back to something that almost destroyed them?

A situation that reduced the Duchess to a caricature she is not and drained her of the high spirits she had before joining the family. Fortunately, she has now got her mojo back and that has inspired the Duke to be even better than before. Why return to old archaic and not much fun Windsor? Why go back to newspaper abuse again when they have not changed? Why go back to slimy Prince William and his sidekick? Nothing so far has changed, and nothing would. They still have the abuse left by trolls on the platforms of Prince Charles and William. Any attempt to entice them to return to the fold with promises would be to seek to exert influence on them once more. Nonetheless, that would not work again. The Duchess has seen that all that glitters is not gold and would not fall for it again. As she told Ms. Gloria Steinem in the summer, she is glad to be back home and that says it all.

2021 promises to be a terrific year for all, especially the Sussexes, that has the potential to pull those willing along. I use this opportunity to wish the Sussexes and all at Sussex Squad,

A Safe Merry Christmas and A Healthy Bumptious 2021. Stay Safe, we Need You all in The New Year. God Bless.
