Harry and Oprah Tackle Mental Health On Apple TV
Last week, Prince Harry and Oprah’s long-awaited Apple TV show about mental health finally aired. The Me You Can’t See tackles mental health issues through the personal interviews of celebrities and everyday people and includes antidotes from mental health advocates and professionals.
Every so often, a piece of media will come along that is heart-breaking yet filled with hope and ground-breaking in the way it creates cultural conversations and shifts.
The Me You Can’t See does just that, and there’s a lot to unpack.
In between the important conversations about mental health, we are also given more details about Harry’s life in the Royal Family. In all honesty, it’s not much anybody who has been paying attention wouldn’t already know; it’s just really something to hear from Harry himself.
Harry is not holding back, and really, why should he?
Why should he continue to bite his tongue when The Firm and the media have waged a collaborated smear campaign against his wife, something Harry confirms in full.
And then, the most jaw-dropping moment from the documentary series when he says this about Meghan…
“they’re not going to stop until she dies.”
I mean, if you’re in the Squad, if you are old enough to remember the Diana years, or at least have a general understanding of what was going on at the time, you knew this already, didn’t you?
It is something we have said on the Sussex Squad Podcast repeatedly and have been chastised for, and here we have it, straight from the horses’ mouth. What isn’t so clear is how much of the word ‘they’re’ refers to The Firm as much as it is the press.
Some people have commented that this could be Harry leaving bread crumbs as if to say, “here’s me saying it on camera in case anything happens, and you’ll need to connect some dots.”
Also interesting, this is the first time Harry acknowledged Dodi Fayad, his mother’s partner, at the time of her car accident.
He goes onto say, “my mother was chased to death while dating someone who wasn’t white.”
Phew! And Beans On Toast Island still thinks he’s coming back. Is it crack or cocaine? Because Harry is NOT going back for anything other than weddings and funerals, even that might be off the cards if the smear campaigns continue.
Although Harry does not say Dodi’s name, he chooses to point out matters of race that blew my breath away. No other Royals have ever publicly acknowledged the racial tones and slurs used by the British press while Dodi and Diana were dating.
Harry doubles down on his happiness.
The Carnival Of So-Called Experts were quick to tell us that Harry regretted doing the Oprah interview. Well, they can stuff their yuck mouths with horse manure because Harry makes clear once again that he is happy and more mentally sound living in California. It’s no secret that Diana, too, had her eyes set on moving to America and was eyeing California before she died. She never made it, but her son did, and Harry the living embodiment of his mother.
Publicly doing a therapy session.
During one part of the documentary, Harry publicly does a therapy treatment. It’s difficult not to make comparisons to his late mother here as Diana destigmatized HIV by hugging and shaking the hands of HIV patients. Harry is destigmatizing and demystifying the process of getting therapy while also bringing attention to new methods to treat trauma. How many celebrities would do this, how many men would do this in front of the entire world? Harry isn’t just talking the talk on a Zoom Call; he’s leading by example.
Harry owns his trauma
I think this is incredibly important because even with the best intentions, we often fall into the trap of fixing people who don’t want to fix themselves, and by trying to fix them, we break ourselves. This burden is cumbersome on women fed the message that it is their job to ‘fix a man. Harry owns that he would lose Meghan if he didn’t sort himself out, and this is a brilliant and progressive message to send to men. He did what he had to do to keep her instead of expecting her to be his fixer.
Harry let it be known that Archie will not suffer the same fate as he did
“Just because you suffered doesn’t mean your kids have to suffer,” Harry says, referring to how his father told him that the life he lived would have to be the life Harry lived too.
This rings true whether you are a millionaire prince of regular folk doing the 9-5. However, money doesn’t shield you from trauma, and generational trauma is a cycle that can stop. Harry iS putting the breaks on the cycle of abuse that keeps people trapped in the Royal cult for his own children.
When I look at all that Harry is doing, do you know who comes to the forefront of my mind?
The Cambridge kids.
Those children did not choose the life they were born into, and sadly, they have two parents whose thirst for The Crown will likely come before the wellbeing of their children. While Harry is trying to break generational curses, The Cambridges is continuing the tradition of abuse.
I do wonder, when those kids are grown up, aware of what happened to their auntie and uncle Meghan and Harry, when they learn of how the British press and some portions of the public wanted their cousin Archie dead in his mother’s womb: how will they feel?
More so, when they see the life of relative freedom and normality that their cousins will be living in California compared to the strict confines of palace life, will they envy them? Will they want out too?
At the very least, they’ll have footage of uncle Harry finding his own freedom, peace, and healing, and when the time comes, they can choose to be on the right side of history and free themselves from the clutches of The Firm also. Harry has done more for those children than their own parents.
The Cambridge and Sussex kids will be the first generation of British Royals fully connected to an online culture that has not existed in any other generation of Royals. Sure, social media has been around and growing for a while, but it has only now reached a new level of connectivity and maturity. One wonders how that is going to play out.
I’ve made several predictions about the Royal Family over the last two decades that came true. So I’m going to make yet another: when the time comes, it could well be Archie rescuing his cousins, because really, if they wanted out, who else could they go to?
As expected, the reaction from the British tabloids to The Me You Can’t See was an entire pile of burning trash. It’s as if the media mafia clan on this Island wants to keep people in a state of misery. That way, you can provide them with a canvas/distraction (like Meghan) to splatter their hate, so they’re not focused on what the real problems are. You know, like families eating out of food banks and the most poorly executed covid containment plan of pretty much any country on the planet.
Harry has had his awakening, he has found his place of healing, and he’s trying to encourage others to do the same also.
We applaud his incredible efforts.
If you’re hurting, please do not be afraid to get help.
Healing is how we find our power.

Thank you for such insight on what the docuseries was all about. Yes I do believe that it will be Master Archie who save at least 2 of his cousins over on the island, because the older one is already looking as if he has start the grooming process like his father.
But thank you for writing facts that needed to be written and read.
